In Vedic (Indian) Astrology the planets are considered to be the agents of our karmas. This seeds of our past actions hide as blockages (vrittis, samskaras, vasanas) in our Astral spine. In the larger scale of things they correspond with the movements of the stars and planets. In the Vedic worldview where all things are connected, the inner worlds are in constant resonance with the cosmic movements. It is a mystery which only the enlightened seers can comprehend by intuitive vision.

It is understood that certain geometries and colors (Yantras) correspond with the energies of the planets "inside out" as well as Mantras (sound frequencies) and Gemstones.

The Saturn Yantras is a  tool for protection and transformation of the negative aspects of Saturn in our spaces and lives.

Here is what the Vedic Astrologer Dr. David Frawley has to say about Saturn. This is an extract of his book the Astrology of the Seers.

"...Yet Saturn is not only the lowest of the planets; it is also the highest. Its lesson is the most difficult but the most rewarding. Saturn is the grandfather spirit and lawgiver, our guiding ancestor. He also represents the positive spirit of the past that brings order and consistency to our lives. In Hindu mythology Saturn is the son of the Sun. The Sun moves in a chariot directed by Saturn. Saturn is the darkness, death and sorrow we must overcome for the revelation of the true light. He is the guardian of the mysteries of true awareness - which is only possible through a precise and exacting cultivation of attention. Saturn is the yogi in meditation. He can give complete detachment and independence. He is the one who stands alone and goes beyond the limitations of the masses. He shows the way of transcendence, though necessarily difficult, through which all limitations can be overcome by resorting to our true and unlimited Self. In this respect the power of Shiva, the lord of the yogis and god of transcendence, works through Saturn."

 It is a nice and appropriate way to install a Yantra with a little ceremony onering the divine energy it represents. this usually is done with chanting the one of the affiliate Mantras while meditating with calm and receptive mind and heart on the geometry and especially the central point of Light (Bindu):

OM Sham Shanicharya namaha.

Sham is one of the  Bija, root mantras of Saturn. You will find OM Sham in-cut and backlit in the ancient Sanskrit language  around the 4 sides of the Yantra.
